With world-class hospitality that’ll make you feel no less than a royal, the capital city is practical “luxury” defined.

But as an average of 522 new restaurants continue to open in London every month, it can be tricky to decide which ones deserve a mention in your busy calendar.

So, we’ve done all the hard work for you by cherry-picking the most high-end restaurants in London that exude luxury and ample, ample finesse. And unlike most other guides, we’ve covered all cuisines that are most popular in the UK – so there’s a luxury option, for every palate.

Let’s jump in!

Led by Executive Chef, Sameer Taneja, Benares is a Michelin-starred modern Indian restaurant. Located in the heart of Mayfair (one of London’s most affluent areas), the restaurant hosts 4 private dining rooms, 3 of which are around the Lounge.

The largest private dining area (the Dover Room) seats up to 36 guests and is a sight to behold. But whether you’re looking for a private dining experience or not, Benares promises unmatchable hospitality and a take on Indian that’s simply, inspired.

Proud of using the best of British ingredients and using them for luxury “fusion dishes” (that make use of age-old Indian recipes), Benares is frequently cited as London’s top Indian restaurant and is booked out weeks in advance.

Visit with an open culinary mind (and your fanciest shoes) – the luxury at this London restaurant never ends.

As one of London’s most celebrated young chefs, The Pem is where Chef Sally Abes has taken the capital city’s gastronomical scene to unbelievable heights.

The Pem is an elegant and lively restaurant that serves the finest British food, with the freshest British ingredients. It famously pays homage to Emily Wild Dickinson – a woman who pushed boundaries in pursuit of what she wholeheartedly believed in.

As such, the Michelin-starred restaurant’s philosophies and branding run deep, making for a most immersive and memorable dining experience. Enjoy seasonal meat, seafood and vegetarian fine-dining dishes, all of which prioritise sustainability and being kind to the planet.

Indulging in luxury could never feel so good.

Le Gavroche, Chelsea

The Godfather of luxury hospitality, Michel Roux Jnr’s Michelen-starred French restaurant.

This eatery has become somewhat of a “famous landmark” in London (because of its celebrity associations) – but rightly so because the food and service are impeccable.

When Le Gavroche first opened in London in 1967 it was the city’s only French restaurant of its kind. Despite the many years that have passed, the restaurant continues to be celebrated for its excellence, as well as its simple (but classical) dishes, that French cuisine has always been admired for.

As well to its painstakingly perfect French cuisine, Le Gavroche prides itself in its wine selection (with some of the finest labels from the world), as the Roux family have always adored wine flavours and a vineyard history. Make note, that this restaurant is one of the busiest spots in Chelsea, London – so you’ll need to book your moments of luxury, weeks in advance.

Murano, Mayfair

After opening in 2008 in London, Murano was granted a Michelin Star, followed by 4 AA Rosettes in just 4 months. Now that’s how one delivers culinary luxury.

This high-end Italian restaurant is led by Chef Angela Hartnett, who is now one of the UK’s most respected food connoisseurs. Angela uses traditional Italian recipes from her beloved grandmother to offer guests the simple (yet most mouthwatering) flavours from her country, that are presented like art on a canvas.

Nipa Thai, Royal Lancaster

Tucked away in Royal Lancaster, London (opposite Hyde Park)  is this beautiful fine-dining restaurant, specialising in authentic Thai cuisine and flavours. Led by Head Chef Sanguan Parr, the Nipa Thai promises to take guests on a gastronomic journey, through culturally-rich Thailand.

Guests love the restaurant’s Teak-decor (sourced from Thailand itself) as well as its traditional all-female kitchen and second-to-none hospitality.

The dishes served at Nipa Thai all hit the traditional Thai flavours of sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and salty and are renowned for their finesse and delicacy. A must-try if you fancy a spot of Thai luxury in London.
