It’s official!!
A £300 million redesign along the Quayside in Gateshead has been approved…
I’m talking about a new Gateshead Arena, Convention and Exhibition Centre, hotels, bars and restaurants.
The Perfect Spot
It seems that this is going to be the place to be soon. With the beautiful waterfront bars and views of Newcastle’s Iconic bridges, the Quayside has always been a major tourist attraction and somewhere everyone considers going when coming to the North East but now this will be a definite!
It is said that the 3.84-hectare site will be transformed to incorporate a state-of-the-art, 12,500-seat entertainment arena, a convention and exhibition centre as well as hotels, bars, restaurants and an extensive public realm.
The aim is to create an area of development that will connect the River Tyne waterfront to the town centre and will be the missing piece Newcastle needed to create a destination that will draw people across the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
A Promising Future For Newcastle
With work now underway and expected to be completed in 2024 the city is already buzzing with excitement and as sunny weather will be with us any day now Newcastle is the place to be at the minute.
