1. BURJ KHALIFA – THE HIGHEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD
The Burj Khalifa is currently (2021) the tallest building in the world with 828 m and one of the most popular Dubai attractions. You will love and hate the building. You will love it because the view from the observation deck is phenomenal. And you will hate it because you’ll never get this building in the frame of your camera. But it is definitely the most popular attraction in Dubai and you should put it on your To-Do-List.
2. DUBAI FOUNTAIN
Right in front of the huge skyscraper is the artificial lake “Lake Burj Dubai” with its famous water fountain, also known as the Dubai Fountain. It is the top attraction downtown and the largest water fountain in the world. Over a length of 275 m, up to 100,000 litres of water shoot up to a height of 1 to 150 m. Pretty impressive.
You can watch the Dubai Fountain spectacle every half an hour from 6 p.m. The water dances to music and everyone pulls out their smartphones to record it because it is so impressive.
3. THE PALM JUMEIRAH
The Palm is probably the best-known project that you know from Dubai. You can see the artificially raised island from the plane. At the moment, work is being done on two more “Palm Islands”, “Palm Jebel Ali” and “Palm Deira”.
If you are not spending the night on the palm tree, you should still make a detour to the outer ring. If you drive to the northeastern part, you can enjoy a great panorama of Dubai’s skyline with the Burj Khalifa and Burj al Arab from there.
4. DUBAI MARINA, JBR
There is always something going on in Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR for short). JBR Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Dubai and has a huge promenade. Here is everything you can imagine. Countless restaurants, shops, boutiques, a market, a fair, and a cinema. You won’t get bored at Dubai Marina. By the way, you can quickly see which restaurants in JBR are good and which are not. If a restaurant is empty, you don’t even need to go inside. If you need a reservation, always get in there.
5. BEACHES IN DUBAI
Dubai has amazing beaches! And they are almost all different. You can either lie down on the beach to relax or do one of the countless activities. The beaches have a lot to offer ranging from jet skiing, kite surfing, flyboarding to fitness, skating or volleyball. You can even run a marathon along the beaches, as there is a well-developed running route along the coast.
The sand is great, and the water is turquoise. There are plenty of places to eat or snack, and some private beaches even serve alcohol.
