The city is operated by Sharia Law (a body of religious law that supports Islamic tradition); however, it is massively diverse and there are nightclubs and bars aplenty.

Where to Live in Dubai
Neighborhoods in Dubai are loosely defined. It might take some time getting used to the fact that there are no street addresses, instead, you’ll refer to something called a “Makani Number” (which sounds confusing, but you’ll get your head around it eventually).
Many claims that downtown Dubai is the most vibrant part of the city. Here, you’ll find many cafes, nightlife options, and amenities that are probably of much better quality than you’d find back home.
The Marina is also another popular neighborhood, which offers “city vibes” and a beautiful waterfront lifestyle. Dubai Marina is home to impressive residential towers, including the world’s tallest “twisted” high-rise Cayan Tower – and if you want to take a break from business for some exciting watersports, the marina is the best place for it! The area is also very family-friendly, with excellent shopping facilities nearby (hello, Dubai Marina Walk) – so if you’re likely to have loved ones visiting while you’re working abroad, this is a great area for them to stay with you.
There’s also the man-made Palm Jumeirah, which is one of the most luxurious and expensive areas to live in Dubai. There are ample real estate options in this part of Dubai, and a four to the five-bed villa can easily cost around £110,000 a year to rent, and get access to stunning views. The island itself is in the shape of a palm tree and residents here are spoiled with a choice of luxury amenities, shopping places, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment.
